Spine Idaho: Samuel Jorgenson, MD

Samuel Jorgenson, MD

Spine Surgeon

Dr. Jorgenson is a fellowship trained spine surgeon who specializes in adult degenerative conditions of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. He has special interest and experience in minimally invasive surgery, correction of deformity, and revision surgery. He has been practicing spine surgery for over 25 years, and is the founder and medical director of the Spine Institute of Idaho. He brings a wealth of experience and perspective to each one of his patients.

Dr. Jorgenson stays involved in the spine surgery community both to contribute to the field, and to continue learning and improving. He has developed and taught new surgical techniques, and has designed products and implants to help spine patients around the world. Participating in and contributing to the medical community is an important part of Dr. Jorgenson’s philosophy, and he takes time to give back through teaching, giving presentations and contributing to spine literature.

Dr. Jorgenson believes no two patients are the same, and he treats them as such. He has seen other practices giving out cookie-cutter treatment plans or performing surgery when it was not necessary, and he founded the Spine Institute of Idaho to fight that trend. He believes everyone deserves individual attention, an accurate diagnosis, and a treatment plan built for their specific situation. That is why he made the Spine Institute not only a surgical practice, but a complete care center, with advanced diagnostic technologies, a full physical therapy clinic, injection suite, and the best surgeons in the region.

Dr Jorgenson has lived in Idaho for over 15 years. He and his family are active in Idaho’s multitude of recreational and cultural activities, including cycling, hiking, both nordic and alpine skiing. When time allows he enjoys traveling and exploring different cultures. Dr Jorgenson and his family believe in giving back to the community, and are involved with many charitable and volunteer organizations, especially focusing on refugee support and resettlement.
